R.I.P. Phoenix

I was jogging along this evening when I noticed a sign posted on a telephone pole. The sign read as follows:

Obviously somebody felt very badly about hitting a cat with their car.

Only a few hundred feet further along I came across another sign, this one posted on a Canada Post mailbox. It read as follows:

For some reason the words, "his name is Phoenix and he's very important to me" really got to me.

Sometimes life just sucks.
